CASPER ─ Three Bridger Valley senior athletes were selected for the 2017 Shrine Bowl and will extend their final football season for one more game as they play for the South this summer in Casper.

Executive Director of the Shrine Bowl, John Cundall announced their roster selections Monday, tapping the three football powerhouses from the Valley. They are Dane Covington and Blake Murray of the Mountain View Buffalos and Preston Quinney of the Lyman Eagles. Kickoff for the 44 annual Shrine Bowl will be at 2 p.m. on June 10.

The Shrine Bowl is an annual All Star game featuring seniors throughout the state and will be played at Natrona County High School. It pits the best from the north against the best from the south. Lately the north has been dominating, defeating the south in seven of the last nine games and winning the last four. Maybe, this year with the help of the Valley’s players, the south can turn things around.
