CASPER — One of the eight Wyoming professional truck drivers who were named champions in their class is listed from Bridger Valley.
In addition, one of the drivers who call Bridger Valley home was a second place winner, out of eight second places.
The competition, sponsored by the Wyoming Trucking Association in Casper, was held at the Wyoming Department of Transportation complex in Cheyenne June 9.
ABF Freight System driver, A.J. Kelly, Cheyenne, received the L.E. Meredith Award for the highest overall score.
Derek Gorrell, FedEx Freight, Fort Bridger, was the winner in the 4-Axle Van Class. His first place finish gives him the ticket to compete at the National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio, Aug. 15-18.
The other local winner was Casey Wegener, Feehan Trucking, Mountain View in the Twin-Trailer Class.
