It kicked off Wednesday night with the Junior Rodeo at the Lyman rodeo arena.

The Bridger Valley Pioneer Days celebration in Lyman pays tribute to July 24, 1847, when the Mormon Pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley. Bridger Valley’s Pioneer Days is boasted as the largest celebration of this date outside the state of Utah.
The theme for this year’s Pioneer Days Celebration is “His Hands, Our Footsteps.”
The weekend is full of a many events. This year’s activities include both a 5K and a 10K run on Saturday morning with free T-shirts given to participants. Both races start at the Lyman LDS Church. The 10K pushes off at 7 a.m. and the 5K at 8 a.m. Medals will be given to those who place in the races.
As the excitement of the day builds, Lyman’s Main Street is where all the action will be at 10 a.m. as the parade winds down the street. Line-up is at Homestead Village and will travel through the main part of Lyman. The street will be lined with eager spectators. Kids will have bags for the oodles-of-candy they expect to get that is thrown from the floats.
The barbecue will follow the parade. It is slated to start at 11 a.m. following the parade. It will be at the Lyman Rodeo grounds pavilion and is open to everyone.
