Arlene Delores Arambula Chandler, 83, passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, in Evanston.

She was born on Jan. 18, 1936, in Canyon City, Colorado, to Ned and Lillian Josephine (Otero) Arambula.

She married Rex Ervin Chandler on Oct. 29, 1955. Their marriage was solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple, Jan. 20, 1968.

He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2017.

Arlene enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, collecting pinecones and doing crossword puzzles. She also joked that she liked to ride her broom. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society and as a Young Women’s president. She and Rex served a mission at Martin’s Cove in Central Wyoming.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce Rex (Bonnie) Chandler; and Randall Kirt (Tracy) Chandler; and Sophie, her beloved poodle. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rex; a son, Wayne; her parents; and brothers, Ron and Darrell Arambula.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, in the Lyman LDS ward chapel. Viewing will be at the church on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Lyman Cemetery.
