MOUNTAIN VIEW — Bobby Bryan Blanchard, 72, died peacefully at his home on July 6, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1944, in Roosevelt, Utah, to William Ira and Verda (Roberts) Blanchard.

He married Barbara Bertling on June 12, 1989, in Vernal, Utah. They were married 28 years.

Bobby loved his work in the oil field. He started in 1966 with Brinkerhoff-Signal and stayed with the company through several transitions. Ultimately Neighbors bought the company and he left in 1999 to work for Patterson UTI where he retired in 2014 as a rig manager.

He loved to spend time with his family hunting, fishing, traveling and just being at home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Barbara of Mountain View; two sons, Vanny (Heidi) Blanchard of Gillette and Jace (Melodie) Blanchard of Midland, Nev.; and a daughter, Jessica Blanchard of Mountain View. He had seven grandchildren and a new great-grandson. Also surviving are his three brothers, William Jesse Blanchard, Gary R. Blanchard and Larry Bryce Blanchard and six sisters, Lila Jean Marble, Joan Pickup, Karen Ann Hackford, Tammy Killian, Judy Treweek and Ethelyn Potter.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, .at 2 p.m. at Crandall Funeral Home, 800 Uinta Street, Evanston, WY 82930.
