LYMAN — Robert Guy “Bobby” Eyre, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 6.

He was born on Jan. 6, 1937, in Urie, to Jesse Guymon and Maxine (Bracken) Eyre.

On Dec. 15, 1956, he married Kay Roblyer in Lyman. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.

Bobby loved his family, his horses and being outdoors, hunting, fishing, packing into the wilderness and driving his team. He went to Indiana and bought a buggy from the Amish. He participated in the Utah Bicentennial Wagon Train. He loved the trip he took to Alaska.

He ran a dairy farm for many years; helped pave the road between Mountain View and Lonetree; and worked for Cache Valley Breeders Association of Logan, Utah. He worked for the Lyman School District as a custodian.  

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports and was a Celtic and Jazz Fan.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Kay; and children: Bobbi Kae (John) McDowell of Urie; Russell Eyre of Cedar City, Utah; Donna (Jerry) Carroll of Evanston; Dixie (Jim) Maxfield of Urie; and Richard Eyre of Brigham City, Utah; his brothers Danny (Ann) Eyre of Urie; and Jay Eyre, of Billings, Mont. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Medora Nelson; and two daughter-in-laws: Lori (Russell) Eyre and Stacey (Richard) Eyre.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. in the Lyman L.D.S. Stake Center in Urie. Viewing will today, Friday, at the Stake Center from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Lyman Cemetery.
