BRIDGER VALLEY — A fantastic late summer/early fall day served as the backdrop for the Homecoming celebrations for both Lyman and Mountain View last Friday.
The day’s activities put the final stamp on the week’s activities for both schools as this right of passage was held for the high school students.
The day’s events started in Lyman with the parade, bounced to Mountain View for its parade, back on the turf in Lyman for the football game and finished on the turf in Mountain View for that football game. Both high school football teams were firing on all cylinders and topped off their Homecoming celebrations with a win.
And last week the two varsity volleyball teams were in competition on the court. As per expected and as both couldn’t notch a win, Lyman took the win, adding one more win to their perfect record. Another attraction for the week was the cross country teams from Mountain View and Lyman met on the course at the Heritage Barn in Lyman. A sidebar to this competition included Lyman High School recognizing Mountain View runner Christy Harmon prior to the volleyball game for her humanitarian act during the cross county race. One of the girls from Lyman was having a problem, and Harmon stopped to help the runner instead of racing on to hit the finish line.
