CASPER — Bridger Valley will be front-and-center at the “Wyoming Coaches Association North-South All-Star Games” as the volleyball teams hit the court.

Five athletes from the Valley and one coach have been selected to be part of the South Team when the South takes on the North in Casper on July 20. The volleyball match starts at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the girls basketball game at 3 p.m. and the boys basketball game at 5 p.m.

Ailee Bugas, Mountain View, and Kassidy Nelson, Lyman, were tapped as members of the South’s volleyball team. In addition, Lyman’s coach Brecia Hansen was named one of the two assistant coaches for the South. Hansen was named the 3A Volleyball Coach of the Year last December. At that time, she said this was her sixth season coaching in Lyman, after being a head coach in Idaho for eight years. She also added the LHS team has qualified for state each of the six years she has coached in Lyman.

As for the girls basketball team for the South, two Lady Eagles and one Lady Buff will don the uniform for the South. They are McKinley Bradshaw and Olivia Smith of Lyman and Charity Harmon of Mountain View.

The North All-Stars won all three games in 2018. This year, none of the members of the Valley’s boys basketball teams were selected to play for the South in the All Star game.

The coaches and athletes report Wednesday, July 17 and will go through seven practices over the four days to prepare for the games.
