MVHS and LHS X country runners competed at Saratoga meet

SARATOGA — MVHS and LHS cross country high school teams stretched their legs last Friday, Sept. 23, at the Shana Ward Memorial at the Saratoga Inn Golf Course turning in good times for both teams.
The meet included multiple teams from Wyoming and one from Wright-Malila, Utah. The Wyoming teams cut across all classifications and included teams from Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne South, Ft. Washakie, Glenrock, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Laramie JV, Lyman, Mountain View, Rawlins, Rock River, Rock Springs, Saratoga/Encampment, Torrington and Wheatland.
The Green River girls and Kelly Walsh boys won the team titles.
Caprice Winn of Mountain View ran 20:36.67 to win the girls' race. She was followed in second place by Lyman’s Karly Sabey, who clocked a time of 20:45.41. These two girls took the top two places in the girls race out of a field of 64 athletes.
