Carolyn was born Dec. 23, 1944, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Mark James and Caroline Aston Hansen. She was the sixth of seven children growing up on the family farm.

She married Samuel Johnson Nov. 24, 1962, in Ely, Nev. They were sealed in the Provo, Utah Temple Sept. 30, 1983. In November, the couple celebrated their 55th anniversary.

She also worked as a school bus driver and paraprofessional for Lyman School District and volunteered in many community endeavors including positions in her church (Lyman 1st Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) where Carolyn inspired and served many people of all ages.

Quilting and making special family recipes like Swedish pancakes or spudnuts were great joys in her life as she gave the fruits of her labors to loved ones, mainly her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. With every stitch or stir she infused love.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Sam; their seven children: Lane Johnson, Jadelyn (Mitch) Bailey, Dustin (Tiffany) Johnson, Kristin (Clint) Bradshaw, Holly (Thad) Faeth, Jed Johnson, and Specialist (U.S. Army) Alex (Dominque) Johnson; 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, her sisters: Phyllis (Paul) Ashton, Laura (Randy) Carter; and brother George (Nancy) Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joel Hansen Johnson; granddaughter, Mindy Johnson; parents, Mark and Carrie Hansen; brother, Duane Hansen; and sisters, Irene Blunt and Janet Lawrence.

Viewing will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, and 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19, in the Relief Society Room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lyman, on Main Street.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, Jan. 19, in the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lyman. Burial will be at Spanish Fork Cemetery in Spanish Fork, Utah; Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m.
