Community concert related story of Christmas

“For unto us, a child is born…”

Posted

LYMAN — The children’s choir kicked off the community Christmas concert Sunday night with their rendition of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Clause is coming to town and other songs.

Naughty or nice as this season counts down to Christmas? They looked like little angels as they stood on the stage, definitely nice. They sang songs like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Santa Clause is Coming to Town.”

The concert was held at the Lyman High School PAC and was sponsored by the Bridger Valley Coalition of Churches. It has turned into an annual event, which brings Valley residents together to celebrate the Christmas season.

The theme for this year’s concert was “(Christmas) Store Window Play and Musical.” As the concert unfolded, the story of the birth of Christ was told through the frame of a window.

The Lyman High School choir was on hand, under the direction of LHS music teacher Jesse. They sang “Away in the Manager” and “The First Noel,” both in a cappella.

The community choir sang with “We Three Kings” and “Hark the Herald.”

The evening was topped off with the choirs and the audience singing one verse of “Silent Night.”
