Dorothy “Dot” Marie Heiden Asay passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren at The Lodge Rocky Mountain Care in Heber, Utah.

Their relationship grew, and they were married in Billings, Montana, on June 16, 1948. A short year later, Dorothy was baptized and converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 15, 1949. Wayne and Dorothy were blessed with five children.

Dorothy loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, oil painting, sewing, her family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions including Sunday school teacher, secretary of Young Women, Laurel advisor, Primary teacher and Primary president, Relief Society teacher, Relief Society president, stake Relief Society president and Bishop’s wife. She was also a stake missionary for two years, served one full-time mission in Calhan, Colorado, with Wayne Asay for one year, was a temple ordinance worker for two years in Ogden, Utah, as well as a baptism coordinator.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Wayne Asay; sons, Harris (Marion) Asay, Bernard (Kathy) Asay and Brad (Audrey) Asay; daughter, Cristi (Scott) Sidwell; and son-in-law, Gene Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lillie Heiden; daughter, Bonnie Hutchinson; sister, Jane Olds; brothers, Bob, Gordon, Lester, Bernard, Earnie and Heiden; and dog, Skipper.
