EVANSTON — Faye Simmons Giles, loving wife, caring mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in Evanston on Aug. 13.

She was born on May 9, 1924, in Charleston, Utah, to Heber J. Simmons and Violet Daybell Simmons. Fay was the sixth of eight children.

She married her high school sweetheart Ross M. Giles on Sept. 20, 1941. They later solemnized their marriage in the Manti Temple. Together, they had three children: Sterling, Brett and Brenda.

Raye and Ross served for years as ordinance workers in the Ogden and Vernal Temples. They also served an 18-month LDS Mission in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. Faye loved attending church and served in many callings. She was very talented in sewing and quilting and enjoyed flower gardening.

Faye is survived by her children: Sterling (Anita) Giles and Brenda (Jim) Pedersen; seven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross; her son, Brett; her parents and four brothers and three sisters.

Family services will be held and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Heber City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at probstfamilyfunerals.com.
