Bradshaw finalist for National award

LYMAN — Lady Eagle McKinley Bradshaw was named the 2017-2018 Wyoming Girls Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year.

This is the 33rd year in which the Gatorade Company has honored the nation’s best high school athletes. Bradshaw is the first Gatorade Wyoming Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Lyman High School.

The 5-foot-11 junior guard/forward led the Eagles to a 22-3 record and the Class 3A state quarterfinals this year in which the Lady Eagles took fourth. This resulted in the fourth trophy the Lady Eagles had brought home in four years, according to their head coach Jason Hansen.

Hansen piled accolades on Bradshaw Wednesday morning as he has all year, attesting to Bradshaw’s prowess on the court.

“McKinley is very deserving of this award. She is the best player in All-Classes for the state of Wyoming,” Hansen said. She is top 5 in almost every statistical category. What sets McKinley apart for me, is that she gives so much effort during a game. When you are super-skilled and super-athletic, then go-hard-or-harder than everyone else, that is the formula for huge

success in basketball.

“Also, McKinley has a very high basketball IQ that allows her to make plays both on offense and defense. She also has an extremely high character and great leadership skills.

She is very unselfish, and would rather get the assist then make the bucket. “She does all the little things at high level adding to our team¹s success. She is a great kid, and I¹m very proud of all she has accomplished,” Hansen added.
