LYMAN — The sun was out even though there were clouds overhead, but the track meet was on a hold for a time Tuesday morning, not because of the weather, but because of a shooting threat near the school and a lock-in at the high school.
Earlier in the morning, the report from the district office was the school would make a decision on whether they could hold the track meet. Slightly after 11:15, the Pioneer was told by personnel in the High School office, the lock-in was over and the track meet was a go.
Lyman hosted the six school meet – Lyman, Mountain View, Evanston, Big Piney, Kemmerer, Farson-Eden – but some events were later in starting. A little before 1 p.m., it was announced the Punchers had arrived and some of the events would start about 1:15. Some of the field events were already at a go and the late arrivals were filtered in at the various events.
