Posted

LYMAN — Lyman Lady Eagles swim team kicked off their year in Rawlins on Aug. 30, using this meet to really bust the rust off and get ready for the season.

Lyman place third as a team and prepared to really shine the next day in Rawlins’s for the annual Pentathlon event. The Lady Eagle had their all-around swimmers really shine in the event with four Eagles claiming top 10 honors and a plaque for their efforts. This is a difficult event because swimmers have to be balanced in all strokes, as well as fast. Brooklyn Busskohl placed 9th, Kira Walk placed 6th, Harper Hewitt placed 5th and Brynlee Busskohl took second holding true to being picked as one of the top five girls to watch in the state in 3A.

The next meet the Lady Eagles traveled to Riverton, claiming second place as a team. The girls IM relay is the only relay to return all four swimmers in 3A and are poised to contend for a state championship. They took first in Riverton, manned with Harper Hewitt, Brynlee Busskohl, Brooklyn Busskohl and alternate Shelby Parkinson.

In the 50 free event, Harper Hewitt took 3rd followed by Samantha Weston 5th, Ashlyn Condos 7th, Kaitlin Anson 8th, Shelby Rollins 9th, Elsie Adams 12th, Jillian Huntsman 14th, Morgan Kertz 15, Maizie Vangieson 16th, Dayana Crook 19th, Tayla Hill 23rd and Ryland Maxfield 26th.

Lyman’s lone diver Libbie Allen took 7th place in the diving event.

In the 500 Free, Brynlee Busskohl placed 1st with a time of 5:59:79, and Libbie Allen 7th.

The 200 free relay scored a second with Kira Walk, Samantha Weston, Ashlyn Condos and Kaitlin Anson.
