CASPER — Bitter cold and blowing snow didn’t stop the Lyman track and field team from competing at the state meet in Casper over the weekend.
The Lyman girl’s came out 12th in the standings with a total of 30 points while the boys ended up in 16th place with a total of four points.
“You always want them to have their best times or distances at state,” said head coach Loren Huntsman Tuesday. “The weather hampered some of that.”
“I thought all of the kids who competed on Thursday and Friday in the cold and the snow showed how tough they were,” Huntsman stated.
Although the team was small compared to others in the state, several Lyman tracksters had an impressive meet.
McKinley Bradshaw had an outstanding jump of 5-02.00 feet, which earned her a state championship in the high jump.
