LYMAN — The LHS varsity basketball teams laced up their shoes and hit the hardwood at the Winter Classics last weekend.

The Eagles played their games in Pinedale where they won two and lost one. The Lady Eagles soared high and took a win in all three of their games.

The LHS teams play in 4A Star Valley tonight and host 4A Evanston tomorrow.

In the latest WyoPreps poll released Wednesday for the 3A conference, undefeated Worland takes over the top spot. The Warriors went 3-0 at last weekend’s Winter Classic in Pinedale. That included a victory over No. 4 Mountain View by 10 points. The Lander Tigers fell to second, Wheatland is in at third. As for the 3A SW Quad, the Eagles are in third place and have an overall record of 6-5.

The Eagles claimed two wins last week in the Classic.

The Lady Eagles soared high in the Winter Classic in Rawlins, taking on three opponents and notching three wins. The Lady Eagles first game, played on Friday, was against the Lady Outlaws of Rawlins. The Lady Eagles clawed out the win by seven, 47-40.

Following their win on Friday, the Lady Eagles were up and ready for action on Saturday and out to prove they could compete with younger players compared to last year’s team.

Brice Hansen, sophomore, is the leading scorer for the Lady Eagles. She also leads the conference in sinking 3-point shots.
