LYMAN — Lyman standout distance runner Elena Jensen has signed to run cross country and track and field at the University of Wyoming.
Jensen is a two-time All-State performer for the Eagles. She finished second behind Sydney Thorvaldson of Rawlins at this year’s (2020) Class 3A State Cross Country Championships in Afton. Her time was 19:34.5.
In 2018, Jensen placed fifth at the 3A state meet. She was 13th in 2019.
Jensen ran indoor track last season and took third in the 3200 meters and sixth in the 1600 meters.
As a sophomore in the Class 3A outdoor track season of 2019, Jensen finished third in the 1600 meters and placed fifth in the 3200 meters. Her junior season was canceled due to the coronavirus.
