Lonnie Ray Odell, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away at his home in Lyman on June 2.

He was born on June 3, 1949 in Hot Springs, South Dakota. 

During Lonnie’s younger years in Custer, South Dakota, he excelled in several sports, earning a scholarship to play both basketball and baseball in college. Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, adventure outdoors and ride his Harley. Lonnie worked in the mining industry for 29 years before being forced to retire due to physical ailments. Lonnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his two sons and four grandchildren. His kindness was exceptional and his patience extraordinary. Lonnie is preceded in death by his father, Royel; mother, Joyce; and brother, Johnnie.

Lonnie is survived by his sons, Chad (Lori) Odell of Mountain Green, Utah, and Kevin (Lacey) Odell of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Mia, Kyson, Aidan and Garrett; sister, Tamara; and niece, Delain of Katy, Texas.

In lieu of services, the family invites those who would like to attend to join them in celebrating Lonnie’s life from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at the Fort Bridger American Legion.
