Lyman Eagles swim team pulled in two second places at recent meets

Posted

LYMAN — The Lyman Eagles, though small, are mighty when they hit the water.

They took second place at both the Lyman Invitational they hosted last Friday and again on Saturday to the Green River Invite.

Teams competing at the Lyman Invitational last Saturday included the host school and Rock Springs, Green River, Evanston, Kemmerer and Sublette County. The Eagles went up against Green River, Rock Springs, Kemmerer and Sublette County at the Green River Invitational.

Although Green River was way out in front at their invitational, 457 points, the Lyman Eagles bested the other teams at the meet with 188 points.

This week the Eagles competed at Evanston Wednesday, and are competing at Pinedale today and tomorrow. They will have one more meet, at Kemmerer next week before post season.

The season for the swim team has been winding down and they look toward the conference meet on Feb. 3-4 and state on Feb. 15-16. For most of the Lyman swimmers, the meets in the interval are a matter of slicing time as they are already pre-qualified for the water at the state meet.

There are several of the Eagles who are ranked in the top 10 of the state.
