MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Valley’s blue and purple met at the net last week on Thursday as the two high school teams donned their colors to play volleyball in the Mountain View dome.
Both teams were ready to stomp and claw their opponent as they worked to take the game. This game was one of the first on the schedules of both teams as they set in for season play. Both had competed in the Cokeville tournament the end of last month, but they didn’t go up against each other. This game last week was different, as the two teams eyed each other from opposite sides of the net on the Buffalos home court.
The Aug. 31 game wasn’t a walk-in-the-park for either team, but the final pendulum swung in favor of the Lyman Eagles as they took the game in five sets: 25-22, 25-20, 15-25, 20-25, 15-12.
As of Sept. 3, the rating for the 3A South quadrant had Star Valley as #1, followed by Lyman, Mountain View and Pinedale.
This week both teams will be on the court at the Rawlins Invitational today and tomorrow.
