LYMAN — The outlook for the Lyman High School track teams seemed pretty rosy as they headed to state.
Weren’t sure how the team would place against some of the bigger schools, but individual track athletes have done well this year throughout the season. And, at the state meet, the two athletes head coach Loren Huntsman named earlier as the top athletes of the team proved they earned that recognition.
“I was pleased with the overall performance of our athletes at state. We hoped to score 50 points with the girls, and they scored in the high 50's,” Huntsman said Tuesday.
McKinley Bradshaw who has been a dominating factor for the Lady Eagles and the LHS track team, again proved to be a factor. She pulled down three championships and was named the Best of the Best in the girls high jump.
For the boys team, Alex Turner again proved he had the power to compete. He threw the discus for 161-03, which was 15-3 over his seed. This throw also earned him the Best of the Best in the discus for 3A. It also set a new record for Lyman High School.
