MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View High School Buffalos have been recognized as a group, which can use Heroes on Helmets Foundation stickers on their football helmets.
“Incredibly humbled, as well as honored, to be given the opportunity to put these stickers on our helmets.” MVHS head football coach Brent Walk posted on We Are MV late Wednesday. “Being associated with the Heroes on Helmets Foundation is absolutely amazing for Mountain View Football and every single player will indeed wear it with pride, professionalism, patriotism, discipline, responsibility, respect and honor. A sincere thank you to ALL of our Nation’s servicemen and servicewomen!!!! Also a special thank you to Tracey Slagowski for involving our program in this organization.”
Heroes on Helmets started as a way for one coach of a 7th grade football team to quietly honor the Nation's fallen warriors. What he started quickly gained the attention of students, parents, the community and made the news. Bear Lake Middle School in Montpelier, Idaho, was the first school to adopt this program district wide.
