MOUNTAIN VIEW — Music students at Mountain View have been tapped for several honors and will represent their school in some prestigious choirs.

Six girls and three guys were selected to participate in the 2020 American Choral Directors Association All-Northwest Honor Choirs.

The sixth grade girls – Essie Black, Reagan Eardley, Angie Shassetz, Rosie Anderson, MaKashyn Salsbury and Kennley Winn – were selected to participate in the Intermediate Honors Choir. They had to audition at the local level, and then were required to audition at the regional level. Ultimately, they were recommended in trios including Soprano 1, Soprano 2 and Alto, according to MV music teacher Lori Limoges.

The male students selected to appear in the honors choirs include Dallin Hoopes, (freshman, bass), who will rehearse and perform with the Junior High SATB Honor Choir: Nino Wuehr (foreign exchange student from Germany, Bass 2) and Kash Purser (sophomore, bass 2) who will both be performing in the High School Men's Honor Choir.

All of these students will travel to Spokane, Wash.; in early March to rehearse with approximately 150 students in their particular honor choirs, presenting the Honor Choir on Saturday, March 14.
