CASPER — The cheer squads at MVHS and LHS took top spots in the 3A State contest last week in Casper.
The MVHS squad took first place, followed by Cokeville in second and Lyman next in line at third. The two Valley teams topped the rest of the teams with them placing in the following order with Rawlins in fourth, Cody, Big Piney, Wheatland and Douglas.
Both Mountain View and Lyman squads utilize building pyramids and other elements such as running flips in their performances. The squads support and cheer the teams and fans for their schools throughout the school year. The state event gives the teams the chance to prove they are the best.
Mountain View’s cheer squad also took the top place in Game Day Results by racking up 89.3 points. They were followed by Riverton with 85. Lyman was in sixth place with 80.8 points.
