MVHS cross country scored good at Nike Cross Regional Championships

MOUNTAIN VIEW —The MVHS boys and girls cross country teams capped off their season with a trip to Boise, Idaho, to compete in the Nike Cross Regional Championships.
The top teams and athletes from the Northwest region converged for one last 5K, according to MVHS head coach Isaac Kiefer Sunday. Individuals and teams from Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Alaska, Washington and Oregon were present at the region championships. There are two races a championship (elite divison) and an open division.
The MVHS’ boys team finished in 18th out of 135 teams without Burnett who scored as an individual due to his championship race placement, Kiefer posted on WeAreMV.
The boys and girls open races both featured over 1000 participants. Results are as follows:
Owen Burnett: 21st in the Championship Division 15:38.7: Fastest 5K from a Wyoming athlete this year and new school record.
