MOUNTAIN VIEW — With the current ranking in the 3A southwest, it looks like the Valley schools will go head-to-head as the season progresses as MVHS is currently rated #2 and LHS is rated #1.
Pinedale is put in at third place and Big Piney in fourth. Sort of de javu as the season begins in earnest.
It is very early in the season, and the teams have basically been in tournament play, but now the push comes to make the scores in the season.
“I am really looking forward to this season of volleyball,” head coach Diana Tims said Tuesday. “We have a team that doesn't have much varsity experience at all, but they have heart and a great work ethic. They are focused on being a team and working together to achieve their goals. They have a lot of fight in them and have really impressed me in many areas of our game.”
Mountain View played another non-conference game last week in Mountain View when they hosted the Kemmerer Rangers on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The Lady Buffs showed their power and might as they served and spiked taking the game in three and winning the three sets – 25-17, 25-14, 25-9.
The Lady Buffs also hosted another non-conference team when they hosted the Saratoga Panthers last Saturday. The Lady Buffs again buy the game away in three, winning all three, 25-14, 25-15, 25-19.
This week the MVHS volleyball team play in the Rawlins Tournament today, another day of gaining experience against a variety of teams.
“This team has put in a lot of extra time to improve and prepare over the off-season and it is paying off,” Tims said. “While we are a pretty young varsity team, I am excited to see all that they accomplish this year and beyond.”
