MVHS Walk tapped to head South Shrine Bowl team

CASPER — The 2021 Wyoming Shrine Bowl released the names of the head coaches for the North and South Teams Tuesday.

MVHS head coach Brent Walk was tapped for the head coach of the South Team. The 48th annual game will be played Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the DickCheney Alumni Field in Casper, Wyoming..

Executive Director Frank Selby released the names and noted Wyoming High School football coaches across the state nominate one coach from among their peers

to serve in this role. From the nominations, one coach is then elected from the North; and one from the South.

The coach selected to be the head coach for the North Team is Matt McFadden of Cody High School.

Walk was also named the 2A Coach of the Year in 2019. This ground is familiar to him as 2019 was the second time Walk was tapped for both honors. In addition, Walk headed the South Team in 2015.

The North has won the last seven games and leads the all-time series 25-18-3.
