MVMS 8th graders presented Treasure Island

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The MVMS 8th grade choir presented the musical, "Treasure Island," following months of preparation.

“Treasure Island” is the musical version of a childhood adventure story. It is a thrilling tale of pirates, treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas and pieces of eight follows Jim Hawkins, an ordinary youth drawn into a dangerous race for buried treasure against the treacherous Long John Silver. The musical was based on Robert Louis Stevenson's book.

The presentation was performed three times last week – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – to large crowds. Reports, after seeing the production, was the students had performed very well.

Lori Limoges, music teacher and director, said late Monday, the students had asked last year to do a musical instead of participating in the fall MS/HS choir concert this year.
