LYMAN — The name of recent Lyman graduate, Preston Quinney, can be found on the roster for the Wyoming All-Star Boys Basketball game, chosen by members of the Wyoming Coaches Association.
The game will pit northern Wyoming against southern Wyoming at Casper Community College on July 22 at 5 p.m. It features a showcase of the best athletes, all of which have recently graduated high school around the state.
“Basketball has been such a massive part of my life for the last 12 or so years, so to have the opportunity to play on the same court as Wyoming’s best players is something really special,” said Quinney.
In high school, Quinney was a force on the Lyman boys varsity court.
“It was really an advantage having Preston on our floor,” said Lyman boys basketball head coach, Kevin Leuck. “Preston spent a lot of time in the off season working on his skill set and his growth over the last two years, from a sophomore to a senior, was tremendous.
“Preston’s success can be contributed to the amount of time he spent in the gym alone, when nobody was watching,” Lueck further stated.
For Quinney, the time spent garbed in blue on the hardwood floor is something he will cherish forever.
