FORT BRIDGER — Ray Tanner, Mountain View, was named the grand marshal of this year’s July 4 celebration.
The American Legion Post 36 of Fort Bridger tapped Tanner for the position.
Tanner is a Purple Heart recipient of the Korean Conflict, never officially named a war, but U. S. military personnel served in the country and died in the country just like any official war.
Tanner served in the U. S. Army in the 25th Infantry and served in Korea from 1951-52. He was awarded the Korean Peace Medal on Sept. 21, 2016.
Tanner is married to Sue Tanner, and they had five children.
