Rehearsals for Handel's Messiah start soon

EVANSTON — The Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus will start rehearsing soon for their Dec. 1 performance in Kemmerer performance and Evanston performance Dec. 3 of G.F. Handel's beloved oratorio, Messiah.

Evanston, Bridger Valley and Kemmerer residents are invited to participate. Rehearsals are weekly on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Middle School. The chorus is excited to welcome new singers starting Sept. 6. The orchestra is particularly looking for new string players to join them at their first rehearsal on Oct. 4.

The biennial performance in Evanston of Handel's most famous work is always highly anticipated by both the performers and the audience, according to the press release. Chorus accompanist Sara Maisey recently expressed, "This is one of my favorite concerts to participate in. It gives me a spiritual uplift all fall. Our collaboration with the Kemmerer Community Choir two years ago was very meaningful, and we're excited to join with them again this year."
