OREM, Utah — Robert Dean Haack died April 16, at the age of 66.

Robert was born Sept. 16, 1951, and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Dorsal and LaFon Haack.

After graduating from Skyline High School, Robert served an LDS mission in Guatemala-El Salvador, and began attending Ricks College upon his return. There, he met Julianne Bradshaw.

On Sept. 7, 1973, Robert and Julie married, and were sealed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, Temple one year later. During their marriage, Robert had many odd jobs before he decided to return to school to get his degree from the University of Wyoming. After graduation, he worked as a middle school history teacher for the next 20 years, and eventually earned a master’s degree in education.

During his life, Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, basketball, shooting guns, studying the scriptures, teaching and reading. He never missed a BYU football game, and had a love for the Utah Jazz.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints till the time of his death, and served faithfully as a gospel doctrine teacher, ward clerk and temple worker, among other callings.

He is survived by his five children: Jason (Becca), Cassie, Nathan (Amy), Robert (Aubree) and Austin (Madison); 11 grandchildren; and his three remaining sisters: Naoma (Owen) Peterson, Lynette (Deloy) Haws and JoAnn (Kent) Rapp.

Now that he’s gone, Robert is having a joyous reunion with his parents: Dorsal and LaFon; and his previously deceased siblings: Tommy, Karen, JaNeth, Willie and Patricia.

While this is a hard time for his family and friends, we are overjoyed at Robert’s new opportunities to live free of the diseases that plagued him for so many years, and for the joys he’s experiencing in his wonderful reunions.

Funeral services will be held on April 28, at 11 a.m. at the Geneva Heights 6th Ward, 590 North 900 West, Orem Utah 84057. There will be a viewing one-hour prior to the funeral.
