Rozella S. Hutchinson

Rozella Saxton Hutchinson passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, in Evanston.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1930, in Almy, to Elijah Brigham and Clara Christina (Polson) Saxton.

On Oct. 16, 1948, she married Harold Joseph Hutchinson in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had 10 children. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2005.

Rozella was an accomplished seamstress and baker. She made wedding cakes, quilts, entered canned goods in the county fair and did crochet and handiwork. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings and enjoyed genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved to do ranch work with her family and was first and foremost a mother. She will be missed.

She is survived by her children: Marcella (Bruce) Rasmussen, Almy; Marvin Hutchinson, Hilliard; Steven (Sharon) Hutchinson, Woodruff, Utah; Gary (Teresa) Hutchinson, Lyman; Theron (Lori) Hutchinson, Hilliard; Ann (Joseph) Danielson, Hilliard; Darlene Hutchinson, Evanston; and Kent (Dalena) Hutchinson, Evanston; son-in-law, Cameron Beane; brothers: Richard (Kaye Ann) Saxton, Evanston; and Ted (Claudine) Saxton, Woods Cross, Utah.

She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a daughter, Ruth Beane; a son, Joseph; a son-in-law, Jess H. Stoddard; a granddaughter, Shari Hutchinson; three brothers, Harold, Warren and Marvin; and five sisters, Cora Robinson, Flora Jones, Sylvia Robinson, Zona Hansen and Pearl Marshall.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, in the LDS Church at 200 Sage St.  Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at Crandall Funeral Home, and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral.

Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery.
