LYMAN — Wyoming high school swimmers get 10 practices before hitting the water in competition, and this year returns a crop of 20 gold medal swimmers across the both classifications.
Back in the pool in practice on Monday, the swimmers are hyped up and ready to do it again in this season as they set their own standards to be the best for themselves and for their teams. The season slides by fast before the swimmers, if they qualify, go to the state meet in Gillette the first full weekend of November.
In the Casper Star-Tribune’s analysis Brynlee Busskohl, Lyman, was one of five swimmers named as an athlete to watch.
Busskohl, a junior, returns to the pool after breaking a 15-year-old state record in the 100 breaststroke twice during the state meet. She now holds the new record with a time of 1 minute, 7.36 seconds. Expect her to return as a standout in four events this year.
