Valley football players earn post-season honors

CASPER — Accolades rained down on Bridger Valley football players as they took a prominence in the All State and All Conference selections.

The selections are conferred on the individual players by a vote by the members of the Wyoming coaches Association.

Also of interest in the selection process, MVHS’s Colby Rees tied with Aaron Thiele, Buffalo, as the 2A Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Another top contender was MVHS’ Hunter Gross was tapped as the 2A Lineman of the Year.

As for the 2A All Conference selections, the Valley played a good prominence on the selections. Between Mountain View High School and Lyman High School, 13 area players were given the honor, nine from Mountain View and four from Lyman. The Valey players selected were:

Colby Rees - Mountain View;

Briggin Bluemel - Mountain View;

Hunter Gross - Mountain View;

Braeden Walk - Mountain View;

Kimball Madsen - Mountain View;

Brecckin Barnes - Mountain View;

Hunter Meeks - Mountain View;

Tyson Condos - Mountain View;

Asthon Schofield - Mountain View.

The other four included:

Jacob Woodland – Lyman;

Brendan Martin – Lyman;

Carson Ellis – Lyman;

Hansen Bradshaw – Lyman.

All State selections included eight players from Buffalo which took the 2A state championship this year. Mountain View had six players tapped for this honor, and Lyman had one. They are Colby Rees, Briggin Bluemel, Hunter Gross, Braeden Walk, Kimball Madsen and Breckin Barnes, all from Mountain View High School. In addition, Jacob Woodland of LymanHigh School also received All State honors.
