FORT BRIDGR — The Valley’s cross country harriers faced off against each other and Evanston last week on Oct. 4.
The day proved to be a good day for running, sunshine, some breeze and fall color in the trees. Competitors run as teams, but they also run as individuals, individuals who rely on their own power to break through at the closing gate trying to do their personal best.
Regionals, for the two schools, are slated for today in Lander and state will be Oct.19-20 in Sheridan.
As for the ladies, Evanston turned in seven of the top 10 places with first and second claimed by Heidi Barton, 19:36; and Reghan Worley, 19:58. Mountain View’s runner Charity Harmon proved she can run with the best. She took third with 20:24. Lyman’s Emma Beck in 11th place with a time of 22:30.
As for the guys, Evanston also took the seven of the top 10 places with Dawson Crofts and Weston Wiley in first and second respectively, both with a time of 16:37. Mountain View’s Travis Harmon was close on their heels as he took third with 16:38. Jesse Fanos of Lyman took fifth with a time of 17:31.
