Valley tracksters impacted Jeff Hereford Memorial Tuesday

MOUNTAIN VIEW — MVHS hosted its annual Jeff Hereford Invitational Tuesday, April 30, with eight schools participating in the meet.

Teams included host school Mountain View, Lyman, Green River, Evanston, Big Piney, Kemmerer, Farson-Eden and Rock Springs JV.

Overall, combined scores for the teams put Mountain View in first place with 189 points and Green River second with 153 points. Lyman claimed third with 147 points, followed by Kemmerer in fourth with 138 points. Big Piney was a distant fifth place followed by Evanston and Farson.

The Mountain View Buffs again proved they count on the track and field as they cornered the first place for the mens teams with 130 points, 50 points above second place contender, the Green River Wolves. Kemmerer cruised in at third place with 67 points followed by Lyman High School in fourth with 60 points. Big Piney was fifth, followed by Farson at sixth and Evanston at seventh.

As for the ladies, the Lady Eagles took first with a score of 87. Green River again pulled in the second place finish with 73 points. The Lady Rangers from Kemmerer again lassoed third place with 71 point, just two-points off of the third place finish. The Lady Buffs of Mountain View were fourth with 59 points, followed by Evanston, Big Piney and Farson.
