Wyoming Downs races to final three weekends of season

EVANSTON — Wyoming Downs will bring excitement and fun as it completes its live racing season the first 3 weeks in August, with the final day of racing Aug. 18.

The Downs is Wyoming’s premier live horse racing and simulcast off track facilities. The racetrack is the largest and only privately owned racetrack in Wyoming.

It has served the southwestern Wyoming and surrounding areas for years with quality horseracing and weekends tied to special events.

Post time for the each day’s events is slated for 1:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 11:30 a.m. Wyoming Downs is 10 miles north of Evanston on HWY 89.

The final weekend, Aug. 17-18, will be a celebration of Native American Heritage, which will feature an Indian Relay Race on both days. The weekend’s activities will also feature the Downs’ 3rd annual car show and will include three awards –Best of Show, People Choice and Best Paint. Friday will also include afreedom rally in which US military and veterans are honored.
