LHS turning fish eggs into trout

Posted

Lyman High School received rainbow trout eggs from the Dubois fish hatchery with the assistant of Jim Hissong. The eggs were put into a 55-gallon fish tank, donated by Trout Unlimited and the Wyoming Game and Fish. The tank had been circulating, cultivating and preparing for the eggs for several weeks. After about a week, the eggs hatched and developed for the next stage of f alevin. The little fish have been developing and have started looking for food around the tank. Students take care of the tank daily, maintaining temperature and more. LHS students will release the trout in the future with the assistance of the Wyoming Game and Fish. COURTESY PHOTO/LHS
