FORT BRIDGER — Bettina Mae Nail-Nielsen, 55, passed away on July 22, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 55, following a brief illness.

Bettina “Tina” was born to Silas Wilbur Nail and Bessie Mary Radar-Nail on July 22, 1965.

Tina loved nature, animals and fishing, although she rarely caught any fish. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for friends and family and listening to music, especially Katy Perry and Garth Brooks.

Tina was known as a force to be reckoned with and always wanted what was best for those she loved. Tina was extremely proud of her Choctaw heritage and considered everyone to be part of her clan. She will be remembered kindly for her loving embrace to all her children and grandchildren, who were considered as kin no matter the parentage.

Sharp in wit and strong of will, she will forever be regarded as someone who pushed for those around her to better their lives.

Tina married her husband Darrel Nielsen on Aug. 17, 1994. Together they lived in Fort Bridger until her passing. Tina was blessed with two children, three stepchildren and 14 grandchildren – daughter, Rhea Nail (Trent Arthur) and four grandchildren of Lyman, Wyoming; son – Silas Richins (Tristiny Richins) and five grandchildren of Wheatland, Wyoming; stepsons; David Nielsen (Carly Moody) of Coos Bay, Oregon; and Pete Nielson (Charity Nielsen) and three grandchildren of Sacramento, California; and stepdaughter: Christina “Tina” Knight (Christopher Knight) and two grandchildren of Evans, Georgia.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Bessie Nail. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Darrel Nielsen of Fort Bridger, Wyoming; brother, Shane Nail of Fort Bridger, Wyoming; brother, Robert Nail of Colorado; her children, stepchildren and grandchildren.
