LHS track team sharpened claws to fly to regional meet

LYMAN — The Lyman High School track team competed at the Green River Quad and the Jeff Hereford Memorial track meet in Mountain View last week.

Although smaller in numbers, the LHS track team has athletes who are some power players and put forth their best effort make good individual marks for the team as a whole.

No team results were released by Green River in the results they sent to the Pioneer. The teams who competed in this May 4 meet included Green River, Evanston, Mountain View and Lyman.

McKinley Bradshaw has been a power house for the Lady Eagles. She cornered three first places in Green River. She took first in the pole vault with 9-03.00 feet, shot put with a throw of 36-04.50 and first in the discus with a throw for 110-00 feet. She also took second in high jump with 5-02.00 earning a combined total 38 points for the Lady Eagles.

Distance runner Kaleigh Douglass took second in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. She has consistently earned marks for the Lady Eagles in these events.

Kyleigh Rogers spun and threw for a third place in the discuss earning six points for the Lady Eagles.

Chesney Walker has been able to raise the bar in her jumps. She took third in high jump with 5-00.00 for eight points. She also claimed third place in the high jump for six points with a leap of 5-00.00 feet.
