MOUNTAIN VIEW — The season is at the half way mark with last Friday’s game and the MVHS Buffs proved they are a presence on the field as they powered over the Thermopolis Bobcats, 31-8.
The game proved to be a good ending for the school’s Homecoming celebration last week. This gives the Buffs two conference wins and an overall record of 3-1.
Head coach Brent Walk expressed enthusiasm and respect for the team Wednesday morning. He said the guys have worked hard and have improved a lot in the off season. The players have gotten 10 to 15 pounds heavier, faster and stronger and this is showing on the field.
The Buffalo team is composed of seven juniors, two sophomores and two seniors. Colby Rees is one of the seniors and is “having an amazing year,” Walk said. He praised all of the team members for their contribution to the action on the field.
The Buffs take on the Pinedale Wranglers today in Pinedale. Pinedale enters the fracas with a conference record of 2-1 and an overall record of 2-2. The Buffs are currently ranked at the top of the 2A West conference, followed by Kemmerer in 2nd and Pinedale in third. As for the statewide ranking, Mountain View is rated number two in this week’s 2A WyoPreps poll behind Buffalo. Pinedale is number five.
