MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Jeff Hereford Memorial at Mountain View High School played host to a nine-team meet, counting host team Mountain View.
The other schools competing at the meet last week in Mountain View included Lyman, Rock Springs, Green River, Evanston, Pinedale, Big Piney, Kemmerer and Farson-Eden. Due to the number of teams and athletes, the field was awash is colors as athletes donned their uniforms to do their best.
As for the guys, the MVHS Buffs took the top notch out of the men’s teams with a score of 123. Big Piney pulled into second place with a score of 117.5, and Lyman High School into third with 86.5 points.
For the gals, the Lady Punchers of Big Piney lassoed first with a score of 142.5 points. The Lady Eagles soared into second place with a score of 118.5, Pinedale in third with 97.5; Evanston fourth with 66.5 and the Lady Buffs in fifth with 57.
Overall results for mens and womens teams together resulted in a different combo. The Big Piney Punchers corralled the first place finish with a total of 260 points. The LHS Eagles took second with 205 and the MVHS Buffalos were third with 180 points. Kemmerer fell to the bottom or 10th place. The Lady Rangers had taken eighth place, but Kemmerer didn’t field a men’s team so what would have been the second half of the score was left hanging in limbo.
As for individual results, both Mountain View and Lyman claimed many places at the Memorial track meet.
