MVHS track athletes continued to put marks on the board

MOUNTAIN VIEW — MVHS track athletes competed in two meets last week, the Lyman Invitational and the Utah Valley University Invitational at Orem, Utah.

Lyman High School hosted its track invitational last week on Wednesday, March 28, and had a bevy of high school athletes on the field and track.

Teams that participated in the meet included Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs, Green River, Evanston, Kemmerer and Farson-Eden. The meet at Lyman was one of five statewide in which teams went head-to-head with their competitors. Results of the Lyman Invitational hadn’t been posted as of this week’s press time.

Mountain View also competed at the Utah Valley University Invitational at Orem o March 31, which plays host to a multitude of schools and athletes. Mountain View was one of eight Wyoming teams.

Sophomore Briggin Bluemel continues to turn on the speed as he skims the hurdles as he races down the track. Bluemel took first in the 110 with a time of 16.11 seconds. He also took third in the 300 with a time of 41.77.

Buffalo vaulter Harlan Benedict also put points on the board for the team as he soared high taking second place with a mark of 14-01, besting his pre-qualified vault at Big Piney.

As for the Lady Buffs, distance runner Charity Harmon again raced down the track to claim eighth place in the 3200 with a time of 12:40.88.
