WEST JORDAN, Utah — The MVHS outdoor track and field team competed at the Copper Hills Invitation in West Jordan, Utah last Saturday, giving the teams a chance to stretch their legs and test their mettle.

They have been seen on the road between Mountain View, Urie and Fort Bridger after completing some practices on the Micheli hill building endurance and muscle. Other Wyoming teams who competed in this meet included Evanston and Cokeville. The athletes from these schools went head-to-head with 12 Utah schools, providing hoards of athletes in competition.

MVHS pole vaulter Connor Miicheli was listed as one of the three elite performances for the guys as he cleared 14-1 in the vault. Another elite who was named from Wyoming was Payton Vernon in the shot as he threw for 52-9.5 feet. The third one named in the boys division was also in the shot. Anthony Macedo of West Jordan hefted the shot for 53-1. These were the only three in the boys division who received an ‘elite performance.’ In the girls division, both girls were from Utah.
