GREEN RIVER — Both Mountain View and Lyman were part of the slate of teams to compete at the Thomas Soda Ash Memorial Invitational in Green River last week.
This was a dual-format featuring 16 teams, 11 from Wyoming, three from Utah and one from Colorado.
The Wyoming teams included host team Green River, Lyman, Mountain View, Cokeville, Evanston, Kelly Walsh, Kemmerer, Lyman, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs and Worland. These teams were joined by Granger, Northridge and Uintah, all of Utah; and Rifle, Colo.
Green River won the tournament on their home mat with a 38-30 victory over Uintah, Utah varsity 1. Worland, Uintah, Utah varsity 2 and Rifle, Colo. won the other divisions.
Lyman Eagle wrestlers ended up competing in the Gold Division, taking fourth place. The MVHS Buffalo wrestlers ended up in the Bronze division taking third. However, on the first day or Friday of the tournament, the MVHS Buffs wrestled in pool 2 with Evanston taking first and Mountain View fourth. Northridge Utah took second and Rawlins took third.
