BRIDGER VALLEY — The Bridger Valley Special Olympic team recently had two athletes participate and medal at Wyoming state games held in Gillette May 18-20.
These valley athletes practice, help fundraise and work hard to participate in this culminating event, according to Candice Rollins, UCSD #6 SPED Director. The athletes participate with athletes in their same age range from around the state.
Results are as follows:
Brandie Hunter earned a gold medal in basketball skills, gold in 25-yard backstroke and silver in 50-yard backstroke.
Jordan Rasmussen earned a gold medal in basketball skills, gold in softball throw, gold in the 200-yard dash, silver in the 100-yard dash and fourth in the 50-yard dash.
A huge congratulations to these athletes for the hard work and dedication they’ve shown. A huge thank you to the local businesses and individuals who continue to support the Special Olympics.
If anyone knows of an athlete who would like to participate or if anyone would like to donate and support local athletes, please call 307-786-4100 X 4112.
