EVANSTON — Varsity volleyball teams at LHS and MVHS are settling in and perfecting their play on the court as they get ready to hit the conference season.

Mountain View hosted the 2A Big Piney Punchers last Friday and notched a win in three, 25-16, 25-9, 25-16.

Both teams then headed west to the Evanston Duals Saturday where they ended up going against each other in the fight for third place.

Today Lyman hosts Worland and also hosts Lander and Rawlins tomorrow. Mountain View hosts Lander today and Worland tomorrow.

As for the Evanston Duals, the two Valley schools were joined by 4A host school Evanston, 1A Cokeville, 3A Pinedale and 4A Star Valley. Mountain View aced two of its games, losing one, and Lyman knocked out one win with two losses.

At the Duals, 3A Pinedale and 4A Star Valley battled in the championship match with Pinedale taking the win in four – 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

As for the Valley teams, the Buffalos beat the Cokeville Panthers in four – 20-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-12, lost to Star Valley in three – 32-20, 25-22, 25-22, and turned around and beat the Lady Eagles of Lyman in four – 20-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-12, taking third place at the Duals.

The Lyman Lady Eagles also proved they were a power on the court, even though they suffered two losses. The Eagles started off strong and handed the Evanston Lady Red Devils a loss in four – 25-14, 17-25, 25-15, 25-17. They were back on the floor against Pinedale and took a loss in three – 12-25, 16-25, 18-25.

The Eagles then went up against the Buffalos and took a second loss, this in four sets – 23-25, 17-25, 25-23, 21-25.
